Lake Dream 1 Lake View of COMO

Absolutely stunning location with beautiful lake views. The sunset views from the property were truly amazing and one of the best parts of our stay. A perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Lake Como.

The host was very welcoming, responsive, and helpful throughout our stay. We especially appreciated the detailed manual provided before arrival, which contained useful information about the accommodation, transportation, restaurants, and local recommendations. The location offers a beautiful view over Lake Como and is well positioned for exploring the area. The train station and ferry terminal can be reached in approximately 15 minutes on foot, making it easy to travel around Lake Como or even to Milan, with trains running roughly every hour. The apartment itself has a lovely terrace and a relaxing atmosphere, ideal for enjoying the scenery. Access to the property is manageable either by climbing approximately 1 km of stairs (around 15 minutes uphill) or by taking the longer 2 km route via the main road. There is also a local bus available, although the schedule may not be convenient for travelers who spend most of the day exploring. For guests arriving with heavy luggage, we strongly recommend arranging a taxi in advance for both arrival and departure, and requesting the host’s phone number beforehand for easier coordination.

Unfortunately, cleanliness was the biggest downside of our stay. The apartment did not feel properly cleaned upon arrival. The bed linens did not appear completely fresh, and when we extended the sofa bed, we found crumbs and even children’s socks underneath, which was quite disappointing. Additionally, while the apartment is generally comfortable, it gives the impression of being actively lived in when not rented out, rather than fully prepared as a dedicated guest accommodation. Some wardrobes and storage areas were locked with padlocks, which slightly affected the overall guest experience and comfort.

We stayed at Lake Dream 1 which is in Bellano and our experience really depends on having a car. Without one, this apartment would be very difficult to stay in comfortably. We would strongly say a car is essential. The apartment is located about 500 feet above the lake and port, and the walk is extremely steep— like climbing 50 stories. We arrived late the first night and walked down to the port for dinner, which was manageable going down, but that was really only realistic for a single trip. The walk back up is extremely steep and very challenging. There is no way we could have made that climb repeatedly over the four days we stayed. If you are not in good physical shape, you will likely not able to make this walk. Without a car, you would need to rely on taxis, which could add €50–€60 per day, and even then availability in a small town like Bellano can be uncertain. We did end up renting a car, which made everything much easier. Bellano itself is a great town with good restaurants, cafés, and a grocery store, but everything is located down at the port, meaning you still have to deal with the steep walk each time you go out. The train from Bellano to Varenna is excellent and very convenient—only about a 4-minute ride for around €3—making it an easy and affordable way to reach one of the main hubs on Lake Como. The standout feature of the apartment is the view, which is absolutely breathtaking and genuinely one of the most incredible we have ever seen anywhere in the world. It is a truly jaw-dropping panoramic view over Lake Como, with endless water, dramatic mountains, and constantly changing light throughout the day. Sitting on the balcony feels unreal, and we spent hours just taking it all in from morning through sunset into the evening. The apartment itself is very nice, clean, and comfortable. With a car, we would rate the overall experience a 10/10. Bellano is also a great base—much more affordable than nearby Varenna.

Incredible view! Bellano is a Great Lake Como launching point. Highly recommend visiting the rock canyon just 5min away in Bellano. Very cool.
