Modern & Elegant One-Bedroom in NoMa, DC

We travelled to DC for our son’s college graduation. There were 4 from our family. 2 of us stayed at this property. It is a very convenient location with drug store and grocery options within a few blocks. It is in a neighborhood so there is life going on around. This was comfortable for our family but it may not be desired by some. The bathroom was big. The kitchen set up was convenient. We had all the basics and more. There is even an air fryer. The washer/dryer was a bonus. Other places did not have this. It is not far from Union Station. It is a little bit of a walk to the metro but very doable (our mother is 80 years old and she was able to do this distance). Check in was a little tricky (our fault, not the host’s). The host was very reachable. To drop off kids, go to parents’ weekend, or attend a graduation at Gallaudet or Catholic University of America, this is a great option. It is less expensive than hotels in the area.

The room was exactly what I hoped for, and the recently renovated shower was amazing! Lots of bed and living room, too, for what I needed, and it was within a short commute to Capitol Hill.One mistake I made: make sure you park where there is no street-cleaning on a Wednesday so you can avoid the 45 fine.Overall, wonderful stay and excellent hosts.

Very comfortable basement apartment, easily accessible to transit (we did not have a car), updated amenities. Great launching point for a week in DC!

The property was very clean and the host was very communicative. It is a basement apartment, though that isn’t clearly advertised. It is also in a neighborhood about 45 mins- 1 hr by bus from the city center and it didn’t feel very safe at nighttime.
