About this house rental
Enjoy our cottage across the road from Lake Arrowhead! You're just 5 miles from the Thorton Gap entrance to the SNP and 5 miles from Luray Caverns.
This cottage is newly renovated with all modern conveniences: central AC, fast WiFi, and EV charger.
We are family friendly + love dogs. Our goal is to provide a clean, safe, comfortable stay! Please read our reviews for an unbiased opinion :)
We also own the downtown cafe, Broad Porch Coffee, so are local and can help if you need anything.
The space
Hi! We live in Luray, own the coffee shop downtown, hiked most of the trails on both mountain ranges and can connect you with whatever you need. If there’s any issues, we’re always nearby.
Since we live here, we’ve chosen properties in the best locations, depending on what experience you want to have. We are long-time SuperHosts and hope you'll read through our 5-star reviews to be confident in your booking.
Our nightly price covers up to six guests. Kids are always welcome, and we're pet friendly with no extra fees. Just let us know who you're bringing so we can accommodate (need the high chair, pack n' play or dog bowls? Let us know!)

The Cottage is right across the street from Lake Arrowhead on a state maintained road. No other house is closer than this one! You're just a two minute walk from jumping in the water. You also have a secluded one acre backyard full of trees that borders a stream that comes out of the National Park.
The entire property was recently gut renovated with brand new electric, plumbing, central HVAC, washer/dryer and landscaping. It feels great being in a fresh, new space!
Great Room and Kitchen:
This large sunny room is the place to hang out with family and friends on big couches and comfortable lounge chairs. Enjoy our book library and fast Wifi throughout the property.
For music, connect to our a bluetooth speaker system to play any music from your phone. Or disconnect and have fun playing board games and playing cards we provide.
Our European style kitchen has the space and equipment to make a snack or cook a full Thanksgiving dinner. All new appliances, including a dishwasher, because who wants to hand wash dishes on vacation? Included are a blender, crockpot/slow cooker, pots, pans, baking sheets, dishes and all utensils.
The large handmade farm table seats six comfortably with room for two extra chairs.
The washer and dryer is out of the way in the laundry closet but easy to access. We provide detergent.
Coffee. We love it! So we provide a couple different ways to make coffee. We have a Bonavita drip machine with a reusable, washable filer. Or you can use the french press. We provide Broad Porch ground coffee (roasted by us right here in Luray!), sugar (and non-sugar sweeteners), creamer. If you bring your own beans, there's a grinder provided. Enjoy a variety of different tea bags as well because tea is good too.
Bedrooms:
The cottage can sleep up to six people in three bedrooms, but also perfect for a couple who want a quiet getaway. We gladly provide all bed linens, towels and pillows.
Each bedroom is a separate room with a door that closes. The front bedroom has two adult single beds. The second bedroom has a Queen Bed that comfortably. The master bedroom has a queen bed with a sliding door to the backyard.
Bathrooms:
There are two bathrooms in the house. The main bathroom has the tiled shower. Enjoy strong water pressure and hot water. Plenty of space for everyone to store their toiletries. Bath and Beach towels are provided.
TV/Movie room:
We created a super cozy movie room in the loft where you can watch Netflix on the new 55" Roku flatscreen or connect to your streaming service subscription of choice.
If you need anything we don’t have, we'll do our best to accommodate. We provide a lot of "starter stuff" so guests don't have to over-buy for short stays (condiments, spices, cooking oil, bug repellent, etc).
Kid stuff:
Because you're probably traveling with enough stuff already, we do have a high chair, a Pak n' Play, and plastic eating dishes for small kids. Just let us know if there's an infant in your group so we can have everything ready for your arrival.
Parking and electric charging:
The driveway can easily handle four to five vehicles. We also installed a Tesla J1772 Wall Connector for Tesla and non-Tesla electric vehicles alike. Charges up to 44 miles of range added per hour.
Outdoor:
The cottage sits on three acres of land. The backyard is secluded and full of trees with a stream bordering the property. There are multiple hammocks to enjoy. The fire pit with six adirondack chairs is perfect for hanging out in the evening. We provide firewood.
There is a three burner propane grill on the porch ready for use.
Renewable Power and recycling:
We buy 100% renewable power from our local electric coop (SVEC), which buys the power from Stony Creek Wind Farm. We'll take care of your recycling when you use the bin in the apartment.

The house was just right for me, my husband, 5 year old, and pups. It had everything we needed and was very clean/ well kept. We loved hanging by the fire pit to make s’mores and watching movies in the loft. It’s close to the Luray town center as well as hiking, wineries, and breweries. There is a park across the street by the lake that has a small playground which we enjoyed. Owners were very easy to communicate with. Highly recommend this property.

Can’t say enough good things about my stay here. The house was spotless, comfortable, and had everything I needed. I like to cook while on vacation and the kitchen had all of the essentials - pots and pans of various sizes and casserole dishes. I had my dog with me and being so close to Lake Arrowhead Park was great. You’re literally across the street from it and I was able to take the pooch for his morning walkie there. The house is 10 minutes away from Luray’s downtown area which had great spots to grab a quick bite, beer, or coffee. It was maybe 15 minutes from the entrance to Shenandoah where I did a lot of hiking. It was nice to be able to come back to the house after a long day of hiking and kick back in the cozy loft area to watch a movie. The owners were very responsive and kind. Can’t think of a single thing I didn’t love about my stay. Can’t wait to go back!
