Escape to Old Wagon Ridge, a cozy cabin tucked away on 6 private acres in the shadows of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Accessed by a mountain road once part of a historic fire route built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, this cabin offers a true back-to-nature experience.
Take in beautiful mountain views while relaxing in the private new hot tub, the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring. Whether you're enjoying your morning coffee on the porch or stargazing at night, this cozy retreat is designed for a peaceful and memorable getaway.
Surrounded by miles of private mountain roads, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to hike, explore, and enjoy the abundant wildlife and serene natural setting.
The area offers something for everyone. Enjoy nearby wineries, spend the day at Lake Arrowhead for hiking, fishing, or paddle boating, or head to the Shenandoah River for tubing and kayaking. Shenandoah National Park is just a 25-minute drive to the Thornton Gap entrance, offering endless trails, scenic views, and wildlife.

PLEASE NOTE for November- March bookings: We strongly advise that a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle is required during these winter months. While there are plenty of dry weekends during those months when a regular vehicle would be fine, you cannot know that in advance. Please take this warning seriously for those months. For the rest of the year, regular 2WD vehicles are fine.
Dogs are welcome! There is a limit of 2, with a pet fee of $50 per pet.
Check-in is at 4:00 PM, and check-out is at 11:00 a.m. Early check-in or late check-out may be available; ask us!
A separate $300 security deposit and a signed renter’s agreement are required for this property. Please feel free to ask us if you have any questions—we are happy to answer them!

Old Wagon Ridge was the perfect weekend getaway. The cabin was clean, cozy, and well stocked. The property was so quiet and peaceful, yet close enough to town to easily get food or supplies. The mountain views were especially beautiful, and we enjoyed star gazing from the hot tub. Our toddler and two dogs loved all the room to romp outside too. Communication with the hosts before and after our stay was great, and they were so kind to leave us (and the dogs) tasty gifts upon our arrival. We cannot wait to try out some of the other properties from Shenandoah Rentals!

Amazing!Never seen a cleaner home!The hosts were amazing giving great instructions to make the trip smooth along with an amazing gift of cheese bread and apple butter. The view from the hot tub is just amazing.My husband and I have never seen the stars so clear! We were blessed with amazing weather, we were able to enjoy the wonderful back yard, hot tub and swing over looking the Mountain View.This place is a must! The Turners.
