Fantastic location just outside castle bay. Idea for exploring. Lovely to stay in a Croft style cottage. Was lovely, warm and cosy. Although the kitchen was pretty basic it had everything you needed to make a meal in. Fantastic info from the host. Very much appreciated. An old style interior, but that’s was what we expected staying in a Croft cottage. Front door and trims could do with a good clean but other than that couldn’t fault it.

The house was sparkling clean, even the unnecessary clutter (empty bottles, shells, plastic flowers) were clean. Kitchen was functional lots of utensils but cupboards full of personal things. The bathroom was functional plenty of hot water. Parking okay, we just needed to park away from bank. The steps leading up to the house were dodgy, probably need levelling up. The host was amazing and gave me lots of information and the views were stunning. We had a superb week on Barra the house is perfectly placed for walks, ferry, airport fab café, beaches, woodland walk and much more.

We had a fab stay at this property. Great location and ideal base to explore. We stayed with our 2 dogs and the garden was secure for them. The beds were super comfortable which was great as there is nothing worse than a bad nights sleep when you are on holiday! The sofas were comfortable too. We found phone signal very sketchy and were unable to access netflix or prime but too be honest we were not there to watch telly so not really an issue! Kitchen was well equipped but did find there was a lack of storage for our food items and would also have liked a splash back behind the cooker for ease of cleaning - just minor points. Our host was super accommodating when our ferry was delayed due to bad weather and told us we could stay on at the property if we needed to which did take a weight off! All in all a great stay at this property.

Cottage was ok, some issues with bedroom radiator not working and water immersion heater over boiling if left on beyond an hour. The kitchen and bathroom are very dated and cooker not easy to use. The access via some uneven steps or from parking area is tricky for anyone with sight or mobility issues. Location is handy for Castlebay
