It's bang on the Gandhi Chowk
- It seems people who are interested in the street food are the only ones who like this hotel. Because the only thing it provides is good access. Otherwise -
- Adjacent to a gaming arcade with a high striker. People keep banging the hammer and noise becomes annoying after a point.
- Paper thin walls. One can also here what other guests are doing in their bathroom.
- The receptionists are disturbingly curt for someone in hospitality business. When I arrived at the hotel, the staff was not only clueless about the booking, but also, not very happy about having a guest unlike any other hotel in my 16 years solo travelling.
- The menu is overpriced for a 3 star hotel.
- No shampoos or bodywashes. One very tiny poor quality soap and a towel I doubted before touching.
- I was given a room in the lower level. I was not told that they switch off the room phone and wifi at night which starts operating only after 8am. So incase of an emergency or any need the hotellers are unavailable, you cannot dial the reception because the phone is dead. So as an early riser I had to go up to the reception to ask why my phone was not working and request a cup of tea. Instead of a polite explanation I got a "Chahiye kya aapko" (what is it that you want?). I refrained from paying another penny by ordering for room service and never ordered the tea.
- It's funny. Because people of Himachal are really very courteous. The staff who carried my bags was polite. But the smarter ones behind the reception were not what one expects when paying 3.2k for a one night stay.
- When one visits Himachal they expect a very humble reception. This is my 5th visit. My accomodatoon in Khajjiar on this same visit was a simple homestay with hotel like facilities that charged me half the tariff and much better hospitality.
- 3 grand for a one night stay at this place - disappointed. I did not express it to the hotel staff because people have different priorities.
- The interiors are nothing out of the world. Nor do they offer the lift, despite having one.
- This hotel will continue to do well due to the location and this one review won't matter. Yet it's better to check the rooms before booking in Dalhousie. Photos and reviews have been misleading twice on this trip.
