Villa Dijana - Makarska Exklusiv

Makarska is a beautiful area. The property is stylish and comfortable with an excellent living & dining area. Kitchen is well equipped . Beds are firm but comfortable. Bathrooms well fitted. We loved the variety of pictures on the walls - they helped make it feel homely.

The first thing to say is that we travel a lot and have stayed in many properties of various types. It did not feel like the property was ready for us, despite the booking being made a long time in advance. The driveway was full of weeds, the pool area was dusty & full of leaves , unlike others we could see nearby. At least half of the furniture & umbrellas round the pool were damaged. One outside dining chair is very dangerous to sit on as the back legs are leaning. We moved it out of the way for our stay.. A large back cushion is missing off the couch near the pool. We had asked for a high chair and cot, bot very important with a baby arriving - the high chair was not there and only provided the day after we arrived. The cot mattress was also missing and a large quilt provided instead. This was both dangerous as its far too soft for a babies face to lie on and also left the bare frame of the cot exposed in places… this too was addressed when we raised it… but we shouldn’t have needed to … There is no guide book for operating the AC or TV’s etc and therefore we had to keep asking questions by what’s app at the start.. the house was hot and at first the AC was limited to 19 -20 degrees ! Warmer than we sleep at home…this was addressed once we raised it a few times..it was a good job it was as it then went to 35 degrees outside all week. There are small green lamps for the dining table or outside use but no batteries in them & no screwdriver to allow you to replace the batteries. We were promised batteries but never got them.. There was no welcome pack of any kind..though Luka brought a bottle of wine when he let us into the house and gave us a link to boat trips and a local supermarket. There is little real privacy due to the building over looking at the back being very close to the large windows of this property and the positioning of the camera and windows on the building in front. The camera appears to point at the pool area of this property..
