Wicks Backpacker's Lodge - Peaceful Quality stay, Walk to the Historic Galle Dutch Fort and the beach

Wonderful host: the women who has lived abroad and loves people. He helped me to cook my dinner as I arrived exhausted :) No scam, no unpredictable situations (that I often had in Vietnam), this house is very welcoming, the host can recommend you places to go and to see and give you advices on communication with locals (good to know if u're travelling solo girl like me). She also added potatoes and delicious onions to my dinner for free :)) Her assistant was also very helpful and welcoming, you could see it in his eyes. I think as a russian I can read people well, so rest assured this place is safe and nice. A very important point is that they won't enter your room without your permission, so if you want to get smth fixed, they will wait until you get back and check it with you. But finally everything worked well, I had no problems at all Thank you very much for your warm hospitality and wish you good clients, a lot of money and peace in the world! :)

Close to everything. Clean, new bathroom with hot water and strong flow. Staff was full service mentality and personable.

Bathroom floor could’ve done with being cleaned

Very clean, good Aircon, comfortable bedding and a quiet room. The property is getting renovated but the room wasn’t affected. Location was about a 15 minute walk to the Fort, and right in the center of Galle next to the train tracks.

The property was a bit hard to find, but marked correctly on the map. Coming in late from the fort was difficult to get back in but we managed. Train is close but not too loud.
