Montparnasse - Modern & renovated 3BD for 8 guests

Muy bien ubicado. Se puede ir andando al centro o llegar a través de varias líneas directas de metro. A 10 minutos a pie de ña estación central de tren.

No hay ni un solo armario. El apartamento está en un antigüo local. Huele a humedad y se ve que ha entrado agua en el suelo y rodapiés. De hecho, en la habitación de abajo (antigüo alamacén subterráneo) hay un deshumidificador.

- Convenient location, 8-10 minute walk to multiple metro stations - Carrefour Market located 100m away - Comfortable beds, quiet enough for sleep despite living room and 1 bedroom facing the street - Apartment is fairly modern, the provided photos are reasonably accurate (though there are a few years of wear and tear that aren’t seen in the photos) - Kitchen well stocked - Responsive host company - Initially I couldn’t access the keybox for late evening check-in due to a shut wooden security door that wasn’t described in the check-in instructions.  But they responded immediately to my messages and one of their staff called me and instructed me on how to trigger the hidden latch to open the door, so I could access the apartment entry and keybox

1) Poor ventilation The place initially smelled stale due to a lack of ventilation. Only 1 window can be opened in the hallway near the entrance, which is at the back of the apartment. All the other windows in the bedrooms and living room do not open. Using 2 floor fans provided by hosts and keeping the window open all the time, I was able to push fresh air from the hallway/kitchen area, into the living room and front bedroom, so it made the stay tolerable. 2) Unusable below-ground bedroom, so apartment is only suitable for 6 people The below-ground bedroom is unusable in my opinion.  There are no windows or ventilation. It is located at the opposite corner of the apartment to the only open window, so no fresh air can get in. There is a very strong unpleasant smell in this room.  The spiral staircase leading down into the room is very steep and slightly shaky, thus risky to use especially for anybody with mobility issues, or very young children. Luckily I only had 6 people, so we didn’t need to use the room.  But I do not believe 8 guests would enjoy staying here, as 2 guests would need to use the sofa bed downstairs. 3) Other points I think the apartment was previously a ground-floor shop/store that was converted to an apartment. The living room window/door seen in the pictures faces directly to the street (the footpath is literally on the other side of the window), and is not able to be opened. As per the photos from the listing, the ensuite shower enclosure is meant to have 2 glass panels but the fixed one was missing (presumably previously broken), so only the sliding door was still there.  It meant the shower wasn’t able to be enclosed, so we had to be extra careful when showering to ensure not too much water splashed out onto the floor. Note I did not complain to the hosting company because I feel the main issues are intrinsic to the property and how it was built.
