Banaue Glass Cabins

It was my second time there and it's awesome. I stayed 10 days each time. It's great for people who want to be away from crowds, rest in comfort after a long day of rough trekking, or visiting rice terrace farms. I like to rough it up during the day and have a great sleep and comfort at night. For me, I liked it because I am writer, and it's very quiet and private. Almost zero people around. It's a great escape and still close enough to town so you get to see people there and restaurants (about 7-10 minutes tricyle/tuk-tuk ride) and come back to the hotel. No backpackers and noise so it's awesome.

The house keeper was so so lovely, she was super responsive over whatsapp and helped us organise a late check out and a tuktuk to the bus terminal. The cafe - ASOH - at the location was also super yum, everything we ate was delicious!

I really liked the place but the price was definitely too much for it. The home was quite out of the way from the main part of Banaue and up a very steep hill. The bathroom was FILLED with ants - these ants were dying/dead so I assume that some kind of ant rid chemical had been used, we kept sweeping the bathroom but whenever we would leave for 20 mins it would fill again with so many (dead) ants. I understand that we are in the mountains and that there are going to be bugs, and since they were dying/dead I can tell that the host/housekeeper was trying to sort the issue - so I DO want to note that the ant issue was not neglected, still it’s important to be aware if you book this property. (mind you, we are Aussie and used to bugs - but this was a lot!). There was no aircon and because the place is glass it does get pretty hot, the windows have fly screens but they are magnetic, this is good in that they can easily be removed, but also means that they aren’t that secure and unfortunately bugs did still get in. Also a note that a cell tower does block the rice terrace view.
