ふもとの山小屋 ネイバーズ Neighbors - Alpine Base Inn

Japanese style futon beds and a very nice environment to spend a few quiet days outside of the big cities

仕切りのあるベッドが個室感あり良かった。個室の部屋名が山の名前でステキでした。

コインランドリーが高いと感じた。

Matsumoto (Nagano), as a whole, was one of the most beautiful prefectures that I've had the pleasure of exploring and staying in, and likewise so too was Alpine Neighbours. Being a 70+ year-old converted house, it has it's fair share of quirks, which I absolutely loved, giving off that 'Ryokan' vibe without the ryokan prices. Very friendly young man at the front desk was great with late check-in and providing info on how to get the most out of my stay (only one night, sadly. I wish it had been more!). Some great restaurant recommendations were provided by staff which I did take up and was glad to have done so as the omurice and Japanese curry I had were both excellent! Overall a very 'homey' feeling and probably the better stays I had on this trip. I had meant to visit this time last year but due to a typhoon, was unable to make it, so I'm glad I managed to visit and experience the Matsumoto hospitality and beauty I've heard so much about!

Lack of shower and toilet facilities available to the number of guests (two toilets and one shower to, I'm guessing, at least 10+ guests at any one time). No dimmable light. Very little ventilation to be had in individual bedding in the mixed dorm. Being the middle of summer, this meant for a very hot night. Very steep staircase to the second floor, which is not great for those with heavy luggage/suitcases (like myself). Bit far from the closest bus stop and or station.

・看板が見づらく、わかりにくかったのでなかなかたどり着けずウロウロしてしまった。「ふもとの山小屋」という看板が見つからず(後で見ると小さくかいてあった)、「ネイバーズ」の方が大きく書いてあったので探しにくい。 サイト上の名称と看板実物から受ける印象のギャップは一言注意書きが要るレベルと思った。 ・部屋は内側からは鍵がかけられるが、外へ出たときに鍵をかけられず不安が残った。 ・時間外に入る時はそれぞれが入り口のカギを取り出す方式でそれは構わないのだが、鍵ボックスの周辺が暗いので夜はキーボードが見づらい。
