Apartments Greifengasse

Sehr schönes, sauberes Zimmer.

Die Dachwohnung war sehr sehr heiss und liess sich auch in der Nacht kaum abkühlen; und ja es waren gerade extreme Temperaturen, aber von solchen Hitzewellen wird man künftig leider wohl vermehrt ausgehen müssen. Im Sommer, bei diesen Temperaturen und eine Dachwohnung; da würde es sich bestimmt lohnen über eine Klimatisierung nachzudenken.(Ich bin sonst nicht generell für Klimaanlagen!)

Fantastisk läge, så nära till allt och framföra Rhen. Promenadavstånd till tågstationen. Fanns det vi behövde. Stort och rymligt boende. Bra ljudisolering trots väldigt trafikerad gata.

Lite varmt på övervåningen utan AC, hade varit bra med ett sängbord däruppe att iallafall ställa fläkten på.

Very central location, this was excellent, very clean, easy to access, had a washing machine. Nice wide comfortable bed.

Only one window facing the Main Street, couldn’t open this at night as it was too noisy , and no A/C . Shame you couldn’t tilt the rear entrance to let some air in. Kitchen furnishings would benefit from larger mugs for tea and some bowls to have breakfast from. The pillows were also quite uncomfortable.

The property did not offer breakfast. The property was spacious with large amounts of storage space, an excellent induction cooker with oven, a capacious fridge/freezer, a washing machine a dishwasher and comfortable bed. Its central location, next to a tram stop, was very convenient. Directly opposite is a well-stocked Co-op store.

The main problem was that the property was unbearably hot. We stayed during a period of temperatures outside of more than 30 degrees centigrade. The apartment was directly above a bakery of which the ovens generated extra heat. There was no air conditioning. I found myself forced to take frequent cold showers to try to stay cool, but still the heat made me lethargic.I did not sleep well because of the heat. After leaving the property we stayed at an Adagio apartment hotel in Geneva. It had air conditioning which meant we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay with no problems of excessive heat. It also cost much less per night than Greifengasse. Given the lack of air conditioning, I did not think that Greifengasse was good value for money. While Greifengasse had a good cooker and oven, I think an additional microwave oven would be very useful for quick heating of food or drinks. Some WD 40 would benefit the locks which were rather stiff. If the weather were cold, the lack of air conditioning presumably would matter less or not at all.
