Hanlon Crescent Apartment sits in Narrow Neck, on the seaward side of the Devonport peninsula and midway between the Devonport and Bayswater ferries. It is a quiet, family-friendly street: a walk through the reserve and along Seabreeze Road brings you to Narrow Neck Beach, about eight minutes away on foot, with its children's playground and toilets, changing facilities and beach cafe. Achilles Reserve is closer still, just up the road, and the palm-fringed fairways of the Waitemata Golf Club are close by as well. Narrow Neck is a calm, north-facing beach with Rangitoto straight ahead, safe for swimming and good for paddleboards and kayaks. A shared coastal path runs from here to Cheltenham Beach and on into Devonport Village, which is a short drive or a longer walk, with cafes, bakeries, a supermarket, galleries, restaurants, the weekend craft market and the heritage Victoria Cinema. Fort Takapuna Reserve and Takapuna beach are north of here. Takapuna Grammar, Belmont Intermediate and several primary schools are all within walking distance, which matters on a longer stay here. From the Devonport wharf it is a 12-minute crossing to downtown Auckland, putting Britomart, Viaduct Harbour, the Sky Tower and the Waiheke Island ferries within very easy reach.

Guests have exclusive use of the whole ground-floor apartment and its private garden. That includes all three bedrooms, the bathroom, the open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, the laundry, and the private subtropical garden reached through sliding doors from both the living room and the main bedroom. Everything is on one level. Parking is on the street, and fast WiFi and a heat pump run throughout. Arrival is by contactless self check-in: full directions, entry details and your lock-box code are sent shortly before your arrival. There are no other guests.

Narrow Neck sits between two ferries. The Devonport terminal is a short drive or a long walk and crosses to Britomart in the city in about 12 minutes; the Bayswater terminal is closer, on the other side of the peninsula. Buses run along Lake Road to Devonport and Takapuna, and an AT HOP card gives the best fares on Auckland ferries, buses and trains. Off-street parking is on site. Uber and ride-share services operate locally, and Auckland Airport is about 45 minutes by car.

Check-in is from 3pm by self check-in and check-out is by 10am; earlier or later times are often possible - just ask. Maximum occupancy is five guests, including infants. This is a quiet residential street, so no parties, events or commercial photography, and no noise outdoors after 10pm. The apartment is strictly smoke-free indoors and out. Pets are considered on request, so please ask before you book. Included in each stay: fresh linen and towels, tea, coffee, pantry basics, starter toiletries, washing machine and dryer, fast unlimited WiFi and a heat pump for heating and cooling. The apartment is professionally cleaned before every arrival. For stays longer than two months, a full clean is compulsory; we quote this at booking and add it to your final cost.
