A great short-break

A perfect little flat. Clean, comfortable, warm, well-located and stocked with everything you might need for a few nights away. The team at North East Escapes were great to deal with - and we were delighted that they put up a Christmas tree for us!

The noise from the street is quite loud. We could hear traffic and revellers until late into the night. Alnwick is a surprisingly busy and rowdy place!

Smelly apartments

The smell from the pet store next door , the hallway was smelly as soon as you enter which travelled all the way upstairs. Dirty towel left in the washing machine which smelled.

Enjoyable experience staying in the heart of Alnwick the modern medieval town!

Great location! Well stocked kitchen with dishwasher. Nicely decorated. Petite and well laid out for a family of 3 with a dog. Very cosy, clean and warm.

The stairs won’t suit anyone with mobility issues. As there is no parking with the property it is worth researching parking. Useful to know where the different car parks allow parking for different periods of time for free.

Great apartment situated in the old city. Easy walking access to the gardens, castle and vast range of pubs and restaurants. If you visit Alnwick - highly recommended - then this apartment is a great base.

Very enjoyable stay. Alnwick is very nice, an excellent base for visiting attractions on the coast.

The location was excellent. Very central and within walking distance of restaurants, pubs and the castle. The flat was spacious, clean and modern. Would highly recommend it.

Very minor point: there was only one wine glass!

Lovely looking place with excellent location. Dog friendly & good information about parking restrictions & location for parking.

The stairs with luggage is difficult with being on 2nd floor, there are apartments on the 1st floor.

Reported electrical problem on day 4 of 8 day stay (fuse box kept tripping when using dryer). Agent said landlord informed, but no electrician sent. Couldn’t wash/dry clothes. Very poor service. Also, only one set of keys given.

Wonderful stay, would use again.

Lovely apartment, great location right in the town centre. The apartment is new or newly renovated, everything was super clean, comfy beds, kitchen had everything we needed. Overall, a very comfortable stay. Would definitely book again.

One and only downside: The combination of single glazed sash windows and a town centre location means this is not the quietest of places to stay. This wasn't a problem for the adults or our older child, but the 3yo was woken at 5am every morning by the noise of the street sweeper doing the rounds. The excitement of watching the street sweeper then also ensured no going back to sleep, so it might not be the best place with young kids.

Location, view is great, decor was nice and layout of property is good. Comfortable temperature, good you get access to WiFi and tv apps. Beds are comfortable.

Tiny/minor things. Smell at front entrance was odd, carpet in bedroom was a bit stained and shower room had slight smell too. But would absolutely not stop us returning.

Nice apartment, perfect for exploring Northumberland coast

Great location right in the middle of town. Perfect for exploring the beautiful coastline all the way to Berwick.

Can be a little noisy later at night but not bad if windows are shut.

Nice tidy and cosy place in a great location in the centre of Alnwick. Short term parking is available directly in front of the property (parking discs are provided) and longer term parking is available within a short walk. The place has all the amenities needed for a few days stay - which is good because there are plenty of things to do in the area. Check in instructions were very clear and hosts were very quick to answer any questions.

Nothing major - the drying function of the clothes washing machine didn't seem to work well (or we couldn't work it out) and there was no drying rack provided in the apartment.

Beautifully decorated and well equipped apartment. Loved the exposed feature beams. Apartment was clean, tidy and had plenty of room for our family of 4. Super central with plenty of shops and places to eat literally just a stones throw away. Would definitely stay again.
