Casa Karuna Villa

Beautiful and spacious. The roof terrace was amazing. Staff were extremely helpful. Only approx 25 mins cab ride from the airport and a good location for travel to Ullawatu and Nasa Dua (and pretty much all of the South Bali area) Nice walk (approx 20 mins) to the gorgeous Melasti Beach. Steep steps down but not to taxing.

It is a little secluded which wasn’t terrible considering taxis are so cheap and the roads to it are unmade. Also the area has building work still going on so it’s a little messy on the tracks leading to it and could do with the street waste being handled by Casa Karuna staff as it appears dirty on the approach (waste bags just left at the roadside near the properties), that said the villa itself was perfectly clean. I’m sure as the other properties are completed the external tidiness and appearance will be resolved. Would highly recommend.

This is a very well done, new property that was very clean and very well styled. All the bedrooms had an en suite with one that had a bath. 2 have direct access outside to the pool with the 3rd room on the 1st floor. The rooftop balcony over looks the hillside and the villa gets varying degrees of direct sunlight either in the pool area or the rooftop balcony. The staff are super friendly and so helpful. They let us drop our bags in the office before check-in so we could go to white rock beach club for the day. Every time we got a grab bike or taxi they would wave us off or ask if we have a nice day. Just really friendly team!

Nothing to dislike or be put off by as such but some feedback would be that the courtyard and pool area can get quite hot, I think that some large plants would help. There is good shade though if you’re looking to get out the heat! If you are over 6ft you will find yourself comically too tall for using the kitchen worktops as they are built to Balinese people average height. Ask your shorter friend to cook.
