Out of a dream

The photos do not do it justice. Sometimes we book a place that looks amazing and in person it’s a little disappointing. Katharsis is the opposite experience. It is actually better in person. This was one of THE BEST and most fascinatingly beautiful places I’ve ever stayed. And I travel A LOT. Truly one of a kind. The 15th century building has been renovated impeccably to maintain its heritage, history, charm— not even charm, so much more than charm— it is truly phenomenal. I am clearly struggling to find the words. Andreas and Taxiarchis are lovely hosts, super helpful and friendly and knowledgeable about the building and history. The location is just stunning, the view from the rooftop to die for, the apartment itself perfectly equipped with everything you could need, stunning bathroom, comfy bed, next door to the 13th century Venetian cathedral, next to multiple museums and Avaton restaurant, situated at the top of the chora, a few minutes from the port, walking (climbing) distance to beach, shopping, nearby everything. I had the best time. When can I go back?

Great host!!

We had such a blast staying in this 550-year-old gem—those old wooden beams and iron bed gave major cozy vibes, but the crisp white sheets and pop of blue kept it feeling fresh. The little kitchenette (complete with a retro fridge and even a washer!) meant coffee mornings and snack runs were a breeze, and that dark marble-style shower felt like a mini spa after wandering all day. Best part? Our host was the sweetest—full of hilarious stories about the place’s wild history and tons of local recs. Already planning our next visit!

Katharsis Palace w Naxos Old Town to niesamowite miejsce na długi i krótki pobyt. XV - wieczny budynek z duszą, zajmowaliśmy piękny przestronny pokój z łazienką, do tego wygodna i w pełni wyposażona kuchnia. Miejsce sprzyjające odpoczynkowi i wyciszeniu. Spędziliśmy tam 7 cudownych dni. Bardzo pomocni i przyjaźni właściciele, gospodarz odebrał nas z lotniska, oprowadził po całym obiekcie i przedstawił historię tego cudownego miejsca. Czuliśmy się wyjątkowo!!!
