Katharsis - 15th c Venetian Palace - Naxos Old Town III

It was very atmospheric and elegant .It almost transcended me to another time .

The old town is a bit of a maze

Really authentic experience. The property feels like being in medieval castle. Still clean and convenient. Once you’re there the location is top. 3 mins away from everything.

Incredibly unique historical property located in a high point of the Castle with excellent views, especially at sunset, over the Temple of Apollo and the Naxos port area from the fabulous rooftop. Large apartment, comfy bed, kitchenette, great water pressure in the shower and lovely shared areas like the ‘great room’ and rooftop. A special bonus was the exuberant host Andreas who has an amazing and passionate knowledge of the history of the property, Naxos Old Town and the Region itself. Would highly recommend!

The wifi was a little intermittent likely due to the 1 metre+ thick walls which conversely, helped to keep the property cool.

What a wonderful surprise this place was! Andreas is such a friendly and welcoming host. He helps with pickups and drop-offs and made everything so easy from the moment I arrived. He studied archaeology and knows so much about the history of the place, which made my stay even more interesting. He took the time to show me around the property and share stories about the area and you can really feel his passion for the place. The property is located in the Venetian Castle area of Chora and is full of character, history, and beautiful artwork. I stayed in the downstairs apartment, which was cool and a bit darker, actually perfect during the summer heat. The apartment is very spacious, the bed is super comfortable, and it has everything you might need, including a washing machine, Nespresso machine, kettle, and sandwich maker. The rooftop terrace is the cherry on top. The views of the Portara and over Chora are absolutely stunning, especially around sunset.

y only complaint is that I didn’t stay longer! This place completely exceeded my expectations and for a few days I genuinely felt like a princess living in a castle. I would happily stay here again.
