Milan center charming apartment

The apartment was big by European standards. The host was very responsive. There was a city transport interruption the day we arrived, so we were late by 30 minutes for check in agreed time. Elena was waiting for us when we arrived. The apartment had everything necessary for life - all supplies for the whole length of stay. The air-conditioning was working perfectly. It was a heat wave with +35 outside, but we were comfortable inside. The location was good, especially with perfect public transit in Milan. The wifi was adequate for working (my husband had to work). The washer was very handy, as the hot weather made us to change closes more often than we expected.

I consciously choose this apartment, so for us it was not a problem, but apartment is on the fourth floor without elevator. If you have mobility issues it is not for you. The other little inconvenience for us was that the hot water temperature was fluctuating up and down. Got used to it, but it is the only thing that made me to take one point from the final mark. The other Italian thing was that all the windows were facing the courtyard and the balconies that were going around the walls. If you open the window, people could look into your apartment and even get in if they wanted. The area was very safe and there were no strangers inside (the courtyard is locked). But it was a strange feeling. The other thing that bothered us for the whole Italian trip (not just in this apartment) is the windows didn't have mesh screens. Therefore we had mosquitos in the apartment. It was not bad in Milan (and we bought a vaping device to repel mosquitos), but if you have an allergy, don't open the windows in spring and summer.

Appartamento meraviglioso in una posizione semplicemente perfetta: centrale, comodissima per muoversi a piedi e con i mezzi, ma allo stesso tempo tranquilla e silenziosa. Milano è davvero “a portata di mano”. Il vero valore aggiunto è Elena. Un’ospitalità rara, fatta di attenzione, gentilezza e cura sincera. Sempre presente, disponibile per qualsiasi esigenza, con una capacità incredibile di farti sentire subito a casa. Non è solo una host, è una persona che ama davvero accogliere. La casa è curata, pulitissima, calda, con tutto quello che serve per stare bene. Si percepisce che dietro c’è amore per i dettagli e rispetto per l’ospite.

L’unico aspetto “da migliorare”, ma che in realtà non dipende dall’appartamento, è la luce di gennaio: in questo periodo Milano è un po’ più grigia e le giornate sono corte, quindi entra meno luce naturale. Ma è proprio una questione stagionale, non della casa, che resta comunque molto accogliente e piacevole.
