I loved how clean everything was! The rooms, bathrooms, and common areas were extremely clean. I wish we would have been able to sit at the lounge on the main level (couldn't because of a run the next day). The shop was full of great things as well.
I did not encounter anything I had a negative reaction to.

Cheap comfortable bed, decent location , it is a hostel newly remodeled - with alcohol downstairs or in your room. My night others were quiet by 11pm. FYI parking on street only. Explore room with resources, multiple individual bathrooms, living room.
APP flexipass needed for room door lock, there are slats at ceiling that allow air, noise, lights from adjoining rooms. You hear every plastic crackle, cough, talk. Don't know if elevator, I didn't check in until 9pm when staff were gone, so I carried luggage upstairs.
No thermostat, table, wastebasket. short camp chair and corner light with button. Outlets in corner by chair. Towels/ soap for rent.
It would be bad if anyone made any noise - wiggle, snore, cough, talk, bark, lots of bathroom trips.
It supplies bed and bathroom. you bring what you need.

I know this is a hostel and not a hotel, but they charge near hotel prices and can’t guarantee warmth or shelter!
The rooms are not heated except for what filters through the openings (!) at the top of the walls which connect to the common space. For this reason the rooms are NOT soundproof, even the private ones. Don’t plan on having any private or sensitive conversations while you’re here! Only a top sheet & a thin wool blanket were provided. I’m sure they’d be happy to give you another one—for a price! We were all bundled up and still shivered throughout the entire night. Highly inadequate for the extreme Minnesota winters. Bring your own blankets if you stay here in the cold, I guess…
The biggest issue is with entering the building & rooms. The only way to access the rooms is with an unreliable APP so you MUST bring your phone with you at all times, even if you just need to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Don’t count on getting in touch with any staff for help getting into your room if the app glitches. They responded to my request quickly, but not quickly enough considering the hazards of being locked out of a building or a room in the freezing cold. This hostel advertises as being a basecamp to return to after adventuring off the beaten path. The nature of adventure means you might return to said basecamp bedraggled and exhausted, maybe even with a dead phone. Well not here! If you’re someone who doesn’t have a reliable smartphone or who wants to unplug while they adventure, good luck to you.
