Timur inn Cappadocia

This was probably the top find of my seven months traveling the world so far. And that's a very, very high bar. Timur Inn—and its owner Ilyas—far exceeded my expectations. In fact, I was hesitant (after hours of research in Istanbul) to reserve this place because the price-value ratio seemed way too good to be true. Turns out this is Ilyas's first season open after spending five years convincing his family to convert their home to a hotel (as so many other locals here have done). Then it took another three years after the pandemic to build it out. And how beautifully designed it is. Inside and out. (Coming from twenty years in the hospitality design industry in Las Vegas, I can tell you every detail has been meticulously add thoughtfully considered.) Not to mention the location, smack dab in the middle of downtown and just a seven minute walk around the corner and up to the city's (in fact, the world's) best hot air balloon vantage point. STRATEGY: Do yourself a favor. If you are on any kind of a budget, book this hotel for your time here. And if a real "cave room" is that important to you or your TikTok profile, then splurge for one for just one night. You could even spend your first couple days checking out those options while you're here and not end up paying a commission to your regular travel app! (That was my plan but I liked this hotel and cost so much I stayed the whole time.) Price/Value: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ For Goreme this is an early bird special. Only opened this year so grab it while prices are good.

Excellent place to stay, 5 star luxury.

We enjoyed our stay here. Rooms and facilities are good, but expect it like an AirBNB and not a premium hotel. Location is very good, walking distance from most of the places. Recommended for budget stays.

The rate is affordable, but the room facilities fell below expectations. The shower drain flows very slowly, causing water to accumulate. There was an unpleasant smell in the bathroom, likely due to the standing water. The owner and in-house dogs are lovely, and the place is quiet, allowing me to enjoy a great night's sleep every night.
