Casa Luigia hillside getaway

We had a short stay at Casa Luigia during our 10-day holiday in Liguria. For us, the beauty of this region (expecially the eastern part) lies in the mountaneous surrounding that runs down all the way to the coast line where the bays are very narrow and dramatic. We arrived at Casa Luigia from the mountainous road of Bracco from Sestri Levante- Wow what a drive! if you like mountain roads with breathtaking views over the sea this is a must! Probably one of the most exciting drive in our holiday! From Casa Luigia we visited the little seaside village of Moneglia (less than 15 mins drive). It is quite a picturesque village with colourful houses but what we liked the most there was the genuine italian holiday feeling compared to the most touristy nearby destinations (Portofino or 5 Terre). The apartment was as described, simple but practical with everything needed, comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen and nice sitting area outside. We will definetely come back for a longer stay to have a full immersion into the real italian holiday mood and to better explore the inland !

TITLE: Paradise for nature lovers! We just back from a lovely holiday at Casa Luigia! We are nature lovers and we were looking for a simple rural accommodation in a quiet location with easy access to hiking trails and Casa Luigia turned out to be the perfect choice for us! Nestled in the foothills of the Apennini's mountains, it was the perfect place for us to relax, recharge and go for some beautiful nature walking nearby. We particularly enjoyed the trekking that starts from nearby Bracco and goes all along the ridge of the mountains, surrounded by lush forest and with stunning views over the sea, passing from the charming village of Lemeglio and ending up in Moneglia. Given the fact that most of the hiking trails are linear, it was very practical for us at the end of the trekking to catch a bus from Moneglia to go back to our base (there is a bus stop just in front of Casa Luigia). We also enjoyed exploring the inland by car, with many picturesque villages and the nearby road of Bracco that is really a must for people that enjoy mountanous roads with breathtaking views over the sea! The apartment itself was very cosy, with a comfortable bed and very well equipped kitchen. The restaurants in the area that were reccommended by the owner Sara were really exceptionals -a delicious journey into the real italian cuisine- and much better than those we tried in the nearby touristic areas. Again following Sara's suggestion, one night we ordered some home-made fresh pasta from a lady in the village and we cook it at home and that was truly delicious too ! We also enjoyed sitting in the evening at the outside table, and one night we were greeted by the incredible sight of fireflies- a truly unique experience! We will definetely be back!
