Kicsit koszos volt a fürdőszoba

The location is perfect, near to Vatican in one direction, Trastevere the other and the central parts of town in the third. It was an easy check-in (appreciated that we could get in a little bit early) and checkout. And contact for info and tips via Whatsapp while staying. It was a good place to stay for us, two adults and two teenagers (that could share the second bedroom). The area is also full of restaurants, close to multiple buses and shops. The veranda was nice to sit out on as well.

The kitchen is pretty basic but works fine if you’re not cooking a lot, perfect for us that basically fixed breakfast and not much more. The flat could do with some fixing but nothing major (eg the back of one of the drawers had fallen off in the kitchen and a couple of the chairs were quite wobbly). Yes the stairs can be a bit tough but we knew that when booking so no real problem (but might be if you don’t walk to well so fair warning).

Las escaleras …

The location of this eclectic, spacious attic apartment is wonderful. You’re in close proximity to endless fabulous restaurants and all of Rome’s wonderful treasures to visit. The apartment is furnished with interesting artwork and a plethora of books. It has character and charm with a well stocked kitchen and a cute terrace for 2. The 2 bed apartment could comfortably accommodate 4 people. The host Marco is a great communicator and a lovely person who made check in super easy.

The apartment is on the very top floor and you have to negotiate about 7 flights of narrow, winding stairs. If you have mobility or health issues, or if you have large heavy bags, then this will not suit you. Being on the top floor also means the apartment gets very hot. And I mean boiling. The bedroom off the lounge was easier to keep at a more reasonable temperature. But it has the benefit of a pedestal fan that was quite effective. Unfortunately the bedroom off the hall does not fair as well and resembles an oven. It has a desk top fan which is about as effective as a 1 year old trying to blow out birthday candles. It is sadly useless and it is incredibly difficult to get any sleep in that bedroom. The kitchen has the convenience of washing machine, which is really handy. But the handle is broken so you have to be inventive with fashioning utensils to open it. It’s a bit frustrating but we got there in the end.
