Kurmaku Guesthouse - Historic Stay inside Elbasan Castle

The patrons were very polite, exceedingly helpful, and discrete. A truly welcoming experience. There was an inconsistence in selecting the room from our side, which they immediately addressed – no extra charges, no questions asked. Important to mention that the location is simply perfect. The guesthouse is not only inside the castle, but just a couple dozen steps from the castle's main entrance. This is truly the very heart of Elbasan we're talking about. You get out, and in just one literal minute of walking through the ancient cobblestone narrow alleys, the main city square opens in front of you. It is a small new (or newly restored) villa surrounded by very old houses, which you can admire from the second floor where the guest rooms are located. The rooms (we had the chance to see at least two) were new, comfortable, very tidy, and fully functional. Smart TV, small fridge, drawers etc. The shared bathroom was perfectly clean, all appliances new and in perfect working condition. This is a very quiet spot. And by quiet, I mean that you can actually hear something you almost don't encounter anymore in urban Albania; you can listen to silence.

Not really. Everything was close to perfection and beyond expectations. The only thing I would have changed – this being a purely matter of personal taste – is the light temperature of bedside lamps, which were cold rather than warm; the latter being more sleep-friendly in nature. But this is such a trivial detail, which I'm sure that if I bothered to politely suggest (I did forget), they would have duly addressed.

Guesthouse davvero carina e accogliente all’interno del castello di Elbasan. L’accoglienza è stata perfetta, la camera pulita e accogliente.

L’unica pecca, proprio per essere precisi, era la mancanza di riscaldamento in bagno (esterno alla camera e condiviso con altri ospiti) che nelle giornate di freddo e pioggia durante la mia permanenza sarebbe stato davvero utile.

La posizione per quello che dovevo fare,era ottima.

La pulizia della stanza,5 giorno non è mai stata pulita.
