1 Cruck Cottage

The owner had contacted me to offer any support I needed so I already felt welcome. The property is a new conversion and has been beautifully and carefully designed and updated to provide every comfort and has been tastefully decorated too.

Outdoor table and chair on the tiny terrace, plenty of room for parking right outside though, another bonus.

Location, cosy decor, price

Ants, lack of a few essentials ( 2 x long mirror, 2 x bedside lights, 4 x cereal bowl)…. All minor but would be appreciated. Ants were an issue in kitchen area - sorry Harry !!!

I think the kitchen facilities were good. I think there could have been a larger kitchen table for the amount of people that it accommodates. Also bath and shower mats, as the surface’s are slippery. Also side lamps in the double bedroom. I couldn’t get to grips with the TV. Didn’t seem to find up to date TV?

The cottage was in a great location for what we needed. The bathrooms were lovely and clean and spacious, along with the master bedroom. The cottage seemed to be equipped with everything that would be required for a stay.

Upon arrival the kitchen was covered in ants. We sorted this initially however it turned out to be a bigger issue, with ants continuing to appear in the kitchen area, on the floor of the lounge area, the stone wall in the lounge area and on the sofa. This made it very difficult to make ourselves comfortable and any food and snacks that we had brought with us we had to keep in our car. As we were only staying for one night, arriving early evening and leaving early morning I did not contact the host regarding this. The following day we were attending a family wedding and so contacting the host at that time was not priority. The main light in the second bedroom was also broken, a lamp had been supplied, however I had read that this was the case in previous reviews so would have expected the issue to have been fixed.
