About this house rental

More than just a vacation—vacation homes with direct access to the sea
Palm trees & panoramic views in Mochlos
For more information and photos, search Google for: schekahn eu.
A place where the Mediterranean is your next-door neighbor: These exclusive vacation homes are situated in a unique location on the outskirts of the quiet coastal town of Mochlos—with private access to the sea, unobstructed views, and a Mediterranean garden the kind you’d otherwise only see in coffee-table books.
The property is the only one in Mochlos that ends directly at the water’s edge within walking distance
—walk right into the sea for a swim without any roads, traffic, or barriers.
Here, you can literally go for a swim right outside your front door or relax on a lounge chair under the palm trees.
You can easily enter the water right from your own property, accompanied by the gentle sound of the waves.
Living in harmony with nature
The vacation homes were built using solid, solid-construction methods in accordance with German standards. They are not prefabricated homes, but genuine retreats with a healthy, pleasant indoor climate—ideal even for longer stays.
Roller shutters, mosquito nets, two spacious terraces per house, and a private parking space right on the property offer comfort and security. To meet modern needs, a new high-speed internet connection is available, installed via a permanently wired system—each house has its own Wi-Fi router.
Interior features:
Two bedrooms per house with high-quality spring mattresses and built-in closets
Air conditioning in the bedrooms ensures pleasant temperatures even in the height of summer
Breathtaking ocean views right from your bed – wake up in the morning to a view of the open water
Modern Nolte built-in kitchen with oven, dishwasher, and washing machine
Satellite TV (Astra) with German and international channels
Fireplace for cozy evenings during the off-season
A picture-perfect garden

The garden is a true highlight: artfully laid out in natural stone terraces and lovingly planted with Mediterranean flora, including several palm trees up to five meters tall. The entire property is not visible from the street—a small, secluded oasis with plenty of space for privacy. Sun loungers, permanent umbrellas, and an outdoor shower by the water invite you to relax.
From the living rooms, bedrooms, and terraces, a wide, unobstructed view of the Mediterranean opens up—at every hour of the day, a different light, a different hue, a new moment of tranquility. Whether it’s breakfast outdoors, watching the sunset with a glass of wine, or reading in the shade of the palm trees—there’s a setting here for every mood.
The small fishing village of Mochlos is just a few minutes’ walk away—accessible via a nearly level footpath that runs directly along the coast. Here you’ll find quaint taverns right on the water, friendly hosts, small shops, a mini-market with everything you need for daily life, and the authentic, laid-back Crete.
If you’re looking for more hustle and bustle or larger supermarkets, Ierapetra is about 20 minutes away—there you’ll find, among other things, a new Lidl supermarket and other shopping options.
Recreational Activities Around Mochlos & in Eastern Crete
Eastern Crete offers a wide variety of activities and sights:
Hiking: Explore the Richtis Gorge with its impressive waterfall or the Mylonas Waterfall—both offer breathtaking natural experiences.

What a gem of a place! I was looking for something nice - not super luxurious with all the bells and whistles, but nice with a kitchen with decent amenities and a sea view and a porch. This had exactly what I was looking for! It is small but well-appointed, the beds are fairly comfortable, and the view is gorgeous. It was a bit too cold for swimming, but the small point is a good place to dive into. You are a swimmer, or there are a couple smaller beaches within walking distance with gradual slopes. The town of Mochlos is tiny with a large number of delicious Cretan restaurants, and everyone was very friendly. If you want to be close to the action and night life, it's a probably not for you. It's a bit of a drive to see some of the sights. But if you are looking for a quiet hideaway, it's just perfect.
