On the rocks A luxury resort in Athirapilly This holiday home resort is under construction at Athirapilly. It's located within a kilometer from the 'Punnagai Mannan' Falls. Situated by the banks of the Chalakkudy river, it offers comfort and has the makings for a great stay. The great 👍 things about the holiday home resort: The property is beautifully landscaped, and tastefully curated offering premium, very well maintained rooms. The swimming 🏊‍♂️ pool is very neat and the waters, clean. There is ample car parking within the premises. There is hot water available throughout your stay. The shower panel is very fancy with pulsating modes of steaming water - very, very relaxing 😌. The rooms are spacious, very clean and decently maintained. Housekeeping requests are prompt. Mr Unni, the caretaker is friendly, easily approachable and just a phonecall away for requests. The not so great things 😕: This holiday home resort is still under construction- there's a lot of building and raw materials strewn about. It is cordoned off, but, you need to keep an eye on where you step. There are plenty of sharp edges in the rooms - the window sills, the floor in the shower, you can cut yourself if you trip over! It needs some child proofing. This is still a holiday home resort sort of gig. There's no dedicated check in office, although checking in was pretty smooth. You don't have porters to help with your luggage. When you pay for your stay, you expect a bit of pampering, but no. The boys just stand around while you wrestle your luggage down the steep steps to your room. Providing uniforms would help identify the help easily as well. There is no room service. Food is fixed to a limited menu, the food prepared off site, and you need to order dinner well beforehand. It would be great to have a round the clock restaurant/ coffee shop on the premises. The pool rooms ( the rooms with attached pool) offers no real privacy.

The pool rooms ( the rooms with attached pool) offers no real privacy. Workers just walk by, sometimes gawking, making it uncomfortable 😑 when you're having a quiet dip. A modicum of privacy would be greatly appreciated. A recreation centre/ gym/ garden would be a nice touch. But what is truly 😕 🤔 shocking is the approach to this bit of property. Google maps takes you one of the ends of the resort. You need to go a bit further and make a turn into a very, very narrow lane. The lane has poor signage, its very easy to overshoot and go. The lane has no paved road, it has slippery stones and rubble making walking along it a treacherous feat. The nearest petty shops are a quarter of a kilometer away, traversing this lane, also at a steady incline can be quite a feat! The narrow lanes are so tight, cars can go only one way. If there's pedestrians walking along, you need to wait, there's no place for them to step aside.

Rooms was exceptional. Very close to a natural stream. The area was super calm and resort ambience was next level. Staff was always there for us. Thank you so much for making our days at athirapilly the best.

Approach road could be better developed for easy access. Boards or hoarding where very less.
