Luxury Trullo Ostuni

We absolutely adored this property. It is probably the most beautiful place we’ve ever stayed in. Tucked away in the countryside and surrounded by olive groves, it felt incredibly peaceful, private and was honestly a little slice of heaven. It was the perfect place to completely switch off and enjoy the surroundings. Martina was incredibly lovely, warm and welcoming, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. We stayed in April and were lucky enough to have beautiful weather, so we made the most of the pool, which was such a wonderful addition to the stay. The interior of the Trullo was absolutely stunning. The attention to detail was incredible and the photos honestly don’t do it justice. It is even more beautiful in person, with so much character while still feeling comfortable and luxurious. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and it was clear how much care has gone into creating such a special place. Ostuni is only a 10 minute drive away, so we would definitely recommend hiring a car. The town itself feels like something out of a fairytale, and staying in such a unique and beautiful property made the whole experience even more magical. We genuinely didn’t want to leave and would absolutely love to come back one day.

I would have loved to give this a 10, but the lack of basic kitchen and cleaning supplies let it down for us. We always book self contained accommodation because we enjoy cooking, and chose this property knowing it had excellent indoor and outdoor cooking and dining facilities. We were surprised there weren’t any basic essentials with the cooking facilities being a big part of the appeal such as salt, pepper or cooking oil, as we’ve always found these provided in similar properties. Buying them for a five day stay felt quite wasteful when we barely used them. We also struggled to keep the trullo clean while cooking, as there were no dish cloths, tea towels or paper towels, so we only had our bath towels to clean up with. The only other thing we found unusual was having to drive around 10 minutes to dispose of our rubbish, as there weren’t any bins available at the property. We understand this may be due to the local waste system, but it felt a little inconvenient. These are only small things, but a few basic supplies and a more convenient rubbish disposal option would have made our stay perfect and truly luxury.
