Not up to standard and misleading advertising

Very good location. Host very good and responsive to issues.

Where to start? The property had advertised free on site parking. In asking the host for parking directions, this turned out to be “street parking if available, or alternatively a paid parking lot 5 minutes away”. Which is totally misleading. On entering the property shared entrance, we were quite shocked at the state of the entrance hall, it was dirty and grubby and in desperate need of a paint job. On entering the apartment we were again quite shocked about the standard of the apartment. Again, paint was peeling off the walls and there had been poor attempts at repair work to some of the plaster on the walls. Pictures were coming loose from their frames on the wall and appeared very cheap. We searched for the advertised washing machine and eventually found it inside the clothes cupboard in one of the bedrooms, which is a health and safety hazard. The kitchen is very small and would be very difficult for more than one person to operate in. We were looking for a food cupboard which we eventually found under the kitchen sink, which had stale food stored in it. By this time we had seen enough to walk out of the apartment and seek an alternative, which we did via booking.com. I contacted the host immediately and she explained that she has a professional cleaner and obviously they had not been thorough before our arrival. I also mentioned the parking to which I received no response. On the positive side, the host immediately agreed to a full refund which has now been processed. The refund process was very difficult in dealing with booking.com customer service as everything is done via the online platform and can take time, which can become frustrating when you are out of pocket. I also note that the parking facility has been updated to indicate that no parking is available.

Great little apartment

A friend and I spent a lovely night at this cosy apartment, slept well , and so quiet even with its central location in Kirkintilloch lots of shops and great restaurants within a few minutes walk , well equipped everything you need is there ,great wifi .We had a lovely meal at a lovely Italian restaurant called Cafe Mariana and great cocktails at The Broadcroft Hotel ,then a lovely brunch at a cafe called Sorelle ,allows dogs and lots of vegan/vegetarian options .The host Claire was excellent. Any question we had was answered so quickly.

well-located | convenient amenities | easy access to public transport | attentive host

We spent a very pleasant few days in and around the area. We were a party of 4 adults and the accommodation was perfect for our needs. The host was attentive and prompt in taking care of a couple of missing items. We shopped at Sainsbury’s, attended a family event at the Broadcroft Hotel, and spent an enjoyable evening in The Kirky Puffer (serve good breakfasts too, veg and non-veg), all within short walking distances. We never experienced any disturbance from the pub. We used public transport. There are regular buses for the 30-minute journey to Glasgow city centre from the bus stop a few metres from the front door. There are regular buses from Glasgow city to the airports (EDI, GLA).

Emplacement idéal

L’appartement est facile à trouver, joliment décoré. L’emplacement est idéal : entre Edimbourg et Glasgow. Stirling se trouve à environ 30 minutes : un incontournable. Le bourg est sympathique. La promenade le long du canal est vraiment agréable. Le petit plus : le supermarché Sainsbury's est à 2 pas.

Le cuisine est minuscule et très basiquement équipée. Pas simple de cuisiner pour une famille de 4 personnes.
