La Quirky Casita, Barrio Viejo

It was so cute!! We had the best time. Our hosts were very kind and ensured we had a lovely stay.

A peaceful refuge in an older neighborhood that delivers a taste of Tucson's traditional barrio culture. Once you've got your bearings, food and beverages are only a short walk away. Not much further afield is the city center. Messages to the hosts requesting information about the area were promptly answered.

It's not a complaint, but you may need Google to find the property. The narrow streets form a bit of a maze - but that's part of their charm.

Few would dispute that the name of this casita is appropriate. Quirky to its essence, it does indeed offer a different experience from standard overnight accommodation. But if the color and character of Tucson’s barrio neighborhoods is enough to tempt you away from hotels and luxury b’n’bs, this may well be the place for you. You will find it on a narrow street tucked behind a historic façade hearkening back to Mexican times. Rooms are small and cozy, but clean and containing modern necessities such as shower, TV, fridge, heat and a/c. Surrounding streets may tempt walkers and observers of local culture, especially in cooler parts of the day, and shops and restaurants are not that much further afield.
