Sandsbu Cabin - Gimsøy Lofoten

Location!! Right on the beach, mountains behind. Huge glass windows to see the land and seascape. Such a dreamy place. Very clean. Dishwasher and laundry tablets supplied, and logs for the fire. Under floor heating made the cabin so cosy. Everything required in a kitchen was there. Watched out for the northern lights from the sofa and popped outside when they appeared. No hesitation in recommending to readers of this.

Frying pans. They’ve lost their non stick Teflon and could do with replacing.

This cabin was simply magnificent. Extremely well equipped, with a stunning view of the sea, completely secluded. A true haven of peace.

Nothing.

We just had a perfect stay at Sandsbu. The magic of the place is how much you are in touch with nature, the sea, the coast, the hills and mountains. The floor-to-ceiling windows and the long terrace in the front of the cabin really give you that feeling. The scenic and quiet location right on the beach makes it perfect for watching the Northern Lights (aurora) - we just went out onto the terrace, or sat inside by the windows. Sandsbu is modern, comfortable, and very cozy, we have actually never experienced such a well-equipped kitchen in a rental home. It was also a unique experience to stroll on the sand banks right in front of the cabin during low tide. It’s also noteworthy that there is a very convenient self-service grocery store, Gimsøy Landhandel, (open 24 hours a day), only 4 minutes away by car. We felt like we stayed in the centre of Lofoten, safe to say the location is perfect for going out on excursions in all directions. This is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places you can find in Lofoten, so we hope to be back! Strongly recommended!
