Designed by John Porter Clark and Albert Frey under Van Pelt and Lind. The house is of very modern design, although Frey only designed a small study that was adjacent to the house. The house was nicknamed “Praeneste,” and when it was completed in January of 1936, Frey and Clark were both at the housewarming party. In 1942 it was sold to the famous author Harold Bell Wright.

Have stayed in several vacation rentals in PS, this place is truly next level. Stayed with family (5 adults total) and the separation between casitas and main property was great. Tons of things to do in the house - huge TV, outdoor pool table, bocce, etc. The barbecue is massive, there are heat lamps so you can still sit outside when it cools in the evening. Top notch kitchen with every appliance you can imagine. All this on top of it being a jaw droppingly beautiful residence inside and out. Check in, communication was all seamless and very easy. Will absolutely stay here again, hopefully soon!
