Very good location: close to restaurants, touristic sights but still on a very quiet street- so no noise from crowds running around. Comparing to a standard size room in a hotel this place is big!
There is a wooden bathtub standing next to a shower. Because of constant contact with water, this bathtub has grey/black spots from mold. I think this is a standard thing in many places/onsen/etc in Japan. I would not rate the place bad because of this since (looks like) it’s a cultural thing.

A great location. We were able to walk everywhere from here. A short bus ride from the train station. Lovely bathroom.. chance to stay on a traditional style house on a quiet street
Kitchen would benefit from a little more equipment- hard to prepare any meals. A sharp knife and chopping board would be helpful. Somewhere (a rack) to dry washing would be helpful

Loved the location and 2 bathrooms. We loved being able to walk towards Yasaka Pagoda in the early mornings or late evenings. Favourite supermarket was Fresco which wasn't a too far away walk and we would definitely consider coming back again.
The steps are a little steep so be careful if your group includes the elderly or young children. But Hosts were super accommodating and we ended up using more bedding downstairs. It would have been great if there were bigger soup/ramen bowls provided. Just a note too, this place does not have an actual kitchen - so no stove which we didn't realise.
