Fern Mt Field on Tyenna River

Great location with access to Lake Peddar , wildlife and isolation

We were looking for quiet and relaxing, and this was it. A lovely home, obviously lovingly restored, with all the amenities we wanted. Coffee machine, enough space yet also cosy and welcoming, laundry and very comfy beds. The sharp knives were immediately noted and appreciated!

The photos don’t lie - the second bathroom is entirely outdoors. Great in warmer weather, but not so useful on cooler/cold mornings. The second loo is also outside, on the opposite side of the house from the outdoor shower and bath. It’s not a sealed space, so there were a lot of bugs in there. None of this is mentioned in the house description, so it was a surprise. Having said this, you can understand why - it’s an old cottage and you can only do so much inside, and everything was functional.

N/A re breakfast as we were self-sufficient. The property was in a beautiful remote location, with the Tyenna River nearby and a short drive to the Mt Field National Park, so worth visiting. The house had everything we needed and was very thoughtfully and stylishly kitted out.

Beautifully restored and appointed home. Fully stocked kitchen with a proper coffee machine and sharp knives. Outdoor shower and bath and seating areas. Lovely big fireplace. Tasteful decor. Close to Mt Field NP and other walks, but away from everybody else.
