Potato

If you want to experience a little bit of traditional boat life, in a trendy and vibrant location then potato is the perfect place. Located in the hip and trendy canalside at Hackney wick, you are literally on the doorstep of some vibrablnt bars and cafes, a stones throw from central London....... We absolutely LOVED it! Charlie, the host came by, he was brilliant, really accommodating and friendly, check in an out times super relaxed, which I'd a rarity!! The boat is quirky, traditionally furnished, not top spec, but that's what makes it even more appealing to me as it's definitely something different. Well equipped with an inside log burner, hot running shower and all the basic amenities needed for a few nights on the water!

We loved everything!! It is worth noting that if your used to top of the range immaculate accomodation, then this boat isn't for you!! But for us, we loved it's simple charm and quirkiness, clean and tidy and well equipped. If you are used to posh toilet facilities, then be prepared to use a traditional sawdust toilet which gor us caused no issue at all, and it's worth noting that there are portaloos just along the canalside which are free to use!! Again this didn't affect our stay in any way, as we were well aware that toilet facilities would be basic on this type of accomodation!!

Der Gastgeber war persönlich vor Ort, hat uns in Empfang genommen sowie in die wichtigsten Dinge eingewiesen. Ein netter Typ. Wer eine außergewöhnliche Übernachtung sucht, ist hier richtig.

Es sollte einem aber klar sein, das man ein Hausboot bucht, kein Hotelzimmer. Es ist recht eng, aber wir sind zu dritt gut klar gekommen. Das Bad ist sehr klein und einfach.
