Villas at Playa de Coco

The location was amazing, all the staff members were very helpful and friendly. The place was spotless! They even swept the sand! We really enjoyed the kayaks and volleyball.

I really do not have any complaints. The restaurant had such good food that it would get really busy. Making a reservation was a must (not really a bad thing). Making reservations is really easy, especially for people staying at the resort.

Needs more variety

The chefs really need to watch the dishes that come out of the kitchen. One of our pizzas was burnt and served.

Modern and spacious

Lots of tech that was hard to make work.

The villas are stunning modern and clean. Cleaning staff go above and beyond. The only issue we had with the villas was that because they are newer...many of the amenities that are supposed to be offered are not working 100% quite yet- the ceiling speakers, the water temperature on the outdoor rain shower wasn't working etc etc... Beach is pristine and comfortable- well manicured and always clean. SUPER PLUS! The staff are FABULOUS- helpful and always responsive when you need them. A special shout out to ALEX who was always there when we wanted a fresh coconut and or some lounge chairs moved around etc... he was super friendly, attentive and was there with anything we needed.

Restaurant is a BIG issue at this resort- the staff have not been trained in the service industry and it is quite apparent. Service is super slower, some food is great but some not- depends on who is the chef at the moment. They have a beautiful BRICK stove for pizza but haven't yet mastered the art of pizza making- several times when we ordered the toppings and cheese were under cooked. We ate the continental breakfast each morning which in our opinion should have included protein(either eggs or breakfast sauces/bacon) but it didn't- so when we added sides of protein they would come 5-10 mins after they served the continental portion on the breakfast- frustrating. It was good- but could be better. Simple little things like not having salt and pepper shakers on the table. Also the floor at the View was not cleaned every day and so there were crumbs and food on the floor when we came up to eat and it was off putting. At one table we sat at each morning there was a knife and old dried up scrambled eggs for 3 days in a row- it wasn't cleaned until I brought it to their attention. Another issue was the noise level- for a boutique hotel they shouldn't offer loud activities like karaoke- kids are screaming into he mic and your trying to have a relaxing early evening chill on your deck looking out at the ocean- a HUGE vibe killer.

We recently stayed at this beautiful boutique hotel In Areca studio with balcony in Villas at Playa de Coco on Placencia Peninsula, and it exceeded our expectations. The property is almost brand new, with a modern design and impressive high-tech features that make the stay extra comfortable. From smart room controls to fast Wi-Fi, everything felt thoughtfully designed for convenience. The location is stunning—right on a pristine beach with breathtaking views and plenty of space to relax. It’s the perfect spot for anyone looking for peace and quiet away from the crowds. The managers were incredibly helpful and responsive, always ready to assist with any request and offering great local tips. The staff there were simply wonderful. One thing to note: the hotel is about 7 miles from Placencia village, so you’ll need transportation if you plan to explore the village frequently. For me, this was a plus because it made the stay more tranquil and private. However, the quality of the hotel itself and the surrounding area undoubtedly surpasses the quality of services offered in the village of Placencia. The hotel also provides bicycles and offers golf cart rentals. If you’re looking for a modern, intimate getaway on a gorgeous beach with outstanding service, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!

We stayed a week in the studio with balcony, the indoor and outdoor showers were a treat. Completely furnished if we chose to cook. we enjoyed the rooftop restaurant/bar with splendid views of the sunrises over the ocean and the lunches and dinners. Having a washer and dryer was very helpful. Very comfortable chairs on the deck and by the pool were appreciated. The bed was very comfortable as was the a/c. Rooms were cleaned perfectly every day and towels and bedding was excellent quality. The staff was amazing and extremely attentive. This boutique hotel is very new and we felt very lucky to have found it for our visit to Placencia area. Beach access is easy and kayaks and paddle boards are included. There is several other good restaurants within walking distance to mix it up. Highly recommend

Villas at Playa de Coco is a beautifully executed hidden gem. Brand new and impeccably clean, the rooms are thoughtfully designed and truly comfortable. The gracious, attentive staff elevate the experience, and the stunning rooftop views- especially at sunset-are unforgettable. Refined, serene, and effortlessly welcoming.

Would love more healthy vegan options
