STAY HUB City Centre - Self Check-in

The room was quite well kitted out and was well located for central Birmingham. The white noise machine and earplugs provided are essential as it’s a very busy and therefore noisy location.

I had requested a fan in advance of my stay due to the heatwave and one wasn’t provided. If this couldn’t be provided, I would have appreciated a response saying this but didn’t hear anything. The room was subsequently very warm. There was a TV in the room but it didn’t have any usable channels so was a bit pointless. There was some hair in the bathroom. The water pressure of the shower was very poor regardless of the setting you selected. Whoever was staying in the flat above me was walking around until past 2am which could be heard through the white noise machine and ear plugs

This is a very good accommodation option in central Birmingham. I'd spent the previous night at a chain hotel in the suburbs, and for a cheaper price, I got a larger and better-appointed room at the Stay Hub. The location is ideal, a short walk from the heart of the action. The room was pleasant and clean, with a good-sized bathroom, small fridge, and large Smart TV. My room was right on the main street, so there was some traffic noise, but the double-glazed windows kept most of it out. Check-in and access are by codes, which works smoothly. Wi-Fi and hot water are very good (but see below).

The Wi-Fi asks you to sign back in (with name, email etc.) every few hours, which is something of a pain. On the bright side, it's lightning-fast once you're connected. No other complaints, it's a very good budget option.

The room was cozy and clean, although a bit small, it has everything you need. Besides, the bed was very comfortable.

The main entrance of the building is very dirty and deteriorated. Not very appealing. Also, the wall next to the sink in the bathroom was all cover with dirty splashes. Some tiles would solve the problem. Lastly the street in which the hotel is located is a bit dodgy.

Room was comfortable and well appointed and communication with the owner was very good - I received messages about the codes and how to check in via the app and text message and did not have to contact them at all directly.

Location is a little dodgy despite being very close to the city centre - it's just the other side of the major road into Birmingham and down a little alley next to a petrol station. There was also music coming from the window all night (I was a bit unclear where this was coming from as I couldn't see any nightclubs nearby and it didn't seem loud enough for that) - they do provide a white noise machine to help mask it which helped, but I would avoid if you are sensitive to noise.
