Owner lies, but the accommodation was comfortable except for the bathroom (shower).

The accommodation was the cheapest in Rovaniemi. It is a partially renovated house. It was well equipped except for the bathroom.

I really don't like that the owner lies in the photos, that's why I give such a low rating. The kitchen in the photo is not from the accommodation. The place is much older, although still very well equipped and functional. You won't find a shower anywhere in the photos, because it's in the basement. It's a room in front of the sauna, which can't be heated sufficiently. Hot water only ran for the first 2 minutes (even for the first person who showered that day). The accommodation couldn't be locked. The door handles fell off very often. The accommodation is located an hour's walk from the center of Rovaniemi.

The house was warm, large and had a good sized garden. Good position with all major attractions being a 10min drive away.

The place is suffering from a severe lack of upkeep. Pictures of the kitchen are not from this house. The actual kitchen is much older. The dishwasher gave a nasty shock and sparked (owner said changing once we left). The owner was poor at responding to communication and did not let us know about the key until only a few mins before collection. The 'private bathroom' was just a shower on the wall in the cellar near the sauna, no sink or toilet. Not all beds were made up. Very poor window coverings and light fittings hanging from the ceiling with wires exposed.

Think twice before booking

Location

When we arrived in the whole first floor it was only 12 degrees, in the sauna/ shower room it was 7 degrees, no hot water, I couldn’t even say that it was warm. Freezing cold and no way to get it warmer. In the evening we tried put up a fireplace and heat up the sauna, hoping that way we could all get warmer. Sadly it didn’t happen, during the night we were sleeping with termo clothes, two pairs of wool socks and two blankets. But even this way it was impossible to warm up! In the morning the temperature on the first floor was 15 degrees and in the sauna area was 11. Didn’t feel warmer from yesterday. We were supposed to stay here for another night, but sure thing we booked another place and tried to contact the owner hoping to get back the money for this second night which was not going to happen. Owner completely ignored us, however we managed to get some fraction of the spent money in a form of travel credits with the help of booking customer support.

Enjoyed our time at the location just could have been a bit warmer in the property and bathroom updated

Great location walking distance to supermarkets and ski slopes . Easy to get an uber into main town . Every thing was clean and new fixtures . It was available when we wanted it

The property never got hot didn’t go over 18’c . The bathroom was really non existence I can see why there was no pictures of it
