山の家 Harumoni

At first it seemed a little away from the center of the little town (just a 10 min walk), but the plus side it is near a bus stop, which loads BEFORE the town center so you can get on before the crowds. The owner is very kind, and especially welcoming if you speak Japanese.

Le diner et petit déjeuner préparés sur place étaient excellent et les chambres traditionnelles étaient propres ainsi que les lits confortables. Je recommande cet emplacement si vous recherchez une expérience plus proche de la vie à la japonaise

I had a wonderful stay at Harumoni in Chikatsuyu. Hiroko was a fantastic host and made everyone feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The room and shared bathroom were clean, and the bed was very comfortable—I slept well after a long day on the trail. The location is excellent for Kumano Kodo hikers, with a grocery store, restaurant, and bakery all within easy walking distance. One of the highlights of my stay was the delicious homemade dinner that Hiroko prepared. Since several guests, including myself, were planning an early start on the Kumano Kodo the next morning, Hiroko thoughtfully packed breakfast bentos for us to take on our hike. Her kindness and attention to detail were greatly appreciated. There is a washer available for guests, and although there is no dryer, my clothes dried overnight without any issues. Overall, Harumoni is a clean, comfortable, and welcoming place to stay, and I would happily stay there again.

A clean and cozy accommodation. The property is old, but good maintenance. Good dinner, breakfast and lunch (extra cost) Free use of a washing machine (no dryer)
