Private Room Direct Travel Heathrow & Central Ldn

The room is big enough, clean and quiet. I could sleep well. The common kitchen is well organized and clean. The staff (owner?) lives near and can handle all the things quite well.

There is a sofa but no table in my room. It would be better if there is an even small one because there is no common dining room. The subway station “North Ealing” is near by but completely a residential area. Quiet but no restaurant and supermarket. Have to walk through the residential area to Ealing Broadway around 1km.

There is no seat in the kitchen or place to sit down but this is unfortunately normal in London. As well as paper walls. The house is mixed as there was a permanent resident but did not cause any problem. Location is not bad, however it takes 15-20 minutes to get to Ealing Broadway Station. North Ealing is closer for Piccadilly line but it runs rarely.

Host was keen, asked to drop the bag before I could occupy the room and was very helpful. Room and bathroom were very clean, kitchen also.

Our stay was pleasant thanks to a few aspects. The staff was very nice and responsive, and they allowed us to check in earlier. We appreciated the good communication; the convenient location of the house; the proximity to a local mini shop; the availability of bus and metros, very well served overall. The room was of a good size. Cleaning came in the morning and it was good to see someone taking care of shared spaces. The place has a lot of potential, but it needs to be completely re-thought, deeply cleaned, and add some more service to the room.

Unfortunately a few things need to improve. Pictures dont represent the current state of the room, they were probably taken a long time ago. Overall, the house needs a full renovation, the rooms would definitely need maintenance. Our room (top floor under the roof) had quite a few issues. It had a strong smoke smell; the windows were not closing properly (they somehow seemed of a different frame size), so we would get a lot of air coming through, cold and especially noise. The room was not insulated for noise nor heat, and we had to turn on the heating fan to warm it up. There was a fridge in the room (not shown in pictures), which had a terrible smell and we could not use. There were a lot of spiders and leaves from the nearby tree, so we did not open windows that much as we would have wanted. There are no desks, no chairs to sit on, a part from an old armchair, not very clean and threadbare. The two white squares shown in picture are actually wardrobes, in one of the two, there was a knife (?!). We didnt have a kettle, nor a mirror in the room. The shared bathroom did not have a hook for the shower head, making a bit difficult to use; hot water was not always run smooth all the time. There was only one paper toilet roll, not sure if it was brought by other guests, but we bought our own. The stairs were mopped, but not hoovered, so it did not feel super clean. Finally, the stairs and neighbours in the room were extremely noisy, and we could not really sleep well.
