Great location and walking distance to the shops. Fantastic view of Kapiti Island across the sand dunes in a tranquil setting. Liked the fact it was an original beach bach and very comfortable

We were without a working oven for most of the stay which was disappointing. The fact that there had been issues prior to our stay, its a shame it hadn't already be dealt with. However this was remedied during our stay.

The location was superb! with great views, a good kitchen, great outdoor area and all on one level so easy access.

Some of the furniture was not showing its age.

Owner's communication was very good, and house instructions were clear and helpful. The beds had heaters, wifi was good.

The house is basic and only marginally clean - found black hairs all over the bed, so was not fond of using the linens & didn't sleep very well. Also had hair and a dead bug in the shower. Cobwebs and dust everywhere in bedrooms, and kitchen floor was not well swept - didn't walk with bare feet. The house heating was not great: had a large space heater and radiator in main room, but no heat in bedrooms, and even directing the heater towards the bedrooms, they remained very cold. Beds heaters weren't quite enough. Bed was very creaky, and when walking out of bedrooms or around refrigerator, a loud creaking came from cabinet surrounding it. Appliances and dishes were old and didn't feel comfortable with their cleanliness. There was no lighting for combination-locked key container at entry door - made entry at night a challenge. There was a path through tall grass to get to the ocean, but it really was just to see the ocean - not a beach to enjoy.
