Welcome to Bergseele Schwarzwald—your cozy, privately run inn in Todtnauberg, situated at an elevation of over 1,000 meters. Here you’ll experience the Black Forest at its best: tranquility, nature, and sweeping views all the way to the Swiss Alps.
Arrive, unwind, and feel at home: Our 13 rooms offer cozy comfort for relaxing days in the Upper Black Forest. The quiet location on the edge of the forest ensures restful nights and makes the Bergseele an ideal starting point for hikes and excursions in every season.
In the morning, from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m., our breakfast buffet awaits you with delicious breakfast specialties and a stunning panoramic view.
After a hike, mountain bike tour, or a winter day in the mountains, our Bergseele SPA—featuring an indoor pool, sauna, and steam room—invites you to unwind. Bathrobes, sauna towels, and cozy wool blankets are available in your room. Use of the spa is included for our guests.
We do not currently offer dinner on-site. You can find restaurants in Todtnauberg at www.todtnauberg.de or in the wider area at www.hochschwarzwald.de/gastronomie.. We recommend reserving a table well in advance, especially on weekends.
Numerous hiking trails and high-altitude hikes begin right outside our front door. Mountain biking, skiing, cross-country skiing, and many other activities are also available in the immediate vicinity.
With the KONUS guest card, which you receive after just one night’s stay, you can use public transportation in the Black Forest for free. The visitor’s tax is already included in the room rate.
The Bergseele is also a popular venue for small groups, retreats, family celebrations, and corporate events. When you book the entire property exclusively, the whole Bergseele is yours and your group’s alone.
Please note: The Bergseele does not have an elevator and is not wheelchair accessible.

Thanks to the separate living area, the two Comfort Double Rooms—each approximately 28 square meters with a south-facing balcony—are particularly well-suited for families with children.
Box spring bed by Schramm Beds with adjustable headrest and topper (180x200 and approx. 56 cm high)
Sofa bed with a 170x200 mattress for up to 2 additional guests. A crib is also available upon request
Bathroom with shower, toilet, hair dryer, hand soap, shower gel, towels, and some have a cosmetic mirror
