Hotel Hari Govindas Mysore - Explore the Heart of Mysore

Hotel is in prime location, close to palace. Restaurant foods are excellent.

Very good location, but they served well breakfast on Sunday only, on weekdays service is much much slow and breakfast options are also very limited.

We booked a "Superior Room with City View" for two days through Agoda, but the experience was a complete mismatch compared to the online description and amenities. The Room & Views: All Superior rooms are on the first floor and offer absolutely no view. The only rooms with a decent perspective are the connecting rooms next to the suites. You are much better off booking a Deluxe room on the 3rd floor just to get a basic street view. Furthermore, the size difference between the room categories is completely negligible. Front Desk & Hospitality: The reception staff were not customer-friendly. We weren't offered a welcome drink upon arrival. When I questioned this during checkout, a staff member later walked up to us in the lobby while we waited for our cab, awkwardly holding three paper cups of juice in their hands without a tray. Petty Overcharging & Poor Communication: The hotel provides two complimentary 500ml water bottles, after which they charge ₹20 per bottle (despite a ₹10 MRP). It’s not about the extra ₹10, but the receptionist's unpleasant attitude made me decide to buy water outside. I left the outside bottles at the front desk, and they agreed to bring them up while I ran another errand. When I returned 30 minutes later, the bottles were still sitting at reception, forcing me to take them up myself. Unresponsive Front Desk: Reaching the hotel by phone is nearly impossible. We called their main line multiple times before and during our stay, and nobody answered. The only time they picked up was after 9 PM on Day 1 when we were returning from Brindavan Gardens. Housekeeping Issues: On our second night, I placed our used dinner plates outside the room. Shockingly, they remained dirty in the hallway until we checked out at 11:45 AM the next day. It felt like because the first floor wasn't busy, the staff completely ignored floor cleanliness. The Positives: The saving grace of this property is the pure vegetarian food. Everything we ordered tasted excellent, especially the Paneer Laziz, spring rolls, and the pudina khata meetha drink. Overall Verdict: Go here if you want to enjoy a good meal, but absolutely look for a different property to stay overnight. This rating is an honest reflection of our true experience.
