Came across Akalapuzha Homestay on a quick search on booking.com for an affordable single night stay during a tiring drive from Kannur to Ernakulam Cochin. It is infact residence of a family and they are renting out a space on the 1st floor of their home. There is a living area where you can hangout on the divan couch, play caroms if you like etc.The room was really spacious , XXL or Large I would say with cubbords, big Mirror, Table, Chair and a queen size Bed. The bed was very comfortable to sleep on. Room had air conditioner which worked perfectly.There is an attached toilet/bath which was immaculately maintained. Very clean with all necessary amenities and water heater for hot water. I was also offered breakfast which would be homely and being a Keralite it would be same as I have at home. Overall a great stay at a very reasonable pricing. The host was very friendly and welcoming. Also I could park my car in the car porch inside which was safe and convenient. As it is a family home they will close the gate by 10:00 PM . The entrance is from the main door of the home so you may not be able to go out and return late without disturbing the family. Kozhikode beach is 27 KM away from this property.
