Property was in a convenient location. Very spacious house with a nice heated pool. Kitchen was big enough to cook comfortably in. The king size bed was extremely comfortable, my pregnant wife and 2 year old daughter slept like babies. Access to the garage was nice, especially on cold/wet days. My daughter found lots of toys to play with and loved it. All tv’s were big and good quality.
As soon as we pulled in, there was a for sale sign for the property which was a little bit of a red flag. There was realtor paperwork on front table area instead of a host binder like usual. Cleanliness of the house initially wasn’t the best, there was a couple little bugs on the floor and the kitchen sink smelled a little musty. Seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned recently but could’ve been cleaned a couple weeks prior instead of day of check in. The quality of towels and bathroom shower curtain in bathroom by pool was poor, dollar general quality. The couch was pretty uncomfortable as well, it was hard to lay down without cushions falling off.
The first morning of our stay, we got locked out because of door handle flaw. Usually the handle doesn’t even have a lock on Airbnbs, you just put access code on the deadbolt but this one had a lock with the flaw that you could turn the knob from the inside while it was locked to leave the house. So unfortunately we got locked out. The property management team handled the situation very well and got us back in the house within an hour which we appreciated. I’m assuming the spare key was in the realtor’s key box hanging from the front door which we couldn’t get access to so we had to wait for a locksmith to come.
Had this house not been for sale and clearly on the back burner for Airbnb guests vs home buyers, and they put in a smidge more effort initially in cleanliness and quality, we probably would’ve gave this place a 10/10.
