Hyatt Centric City Centre Kuala Lumpur

Location, cleanliness important. Things are new. Room is very spacious. Not suitable for light sleepers as the traffic can be noisy. Hotel provide ear plugs to drown the noise if you don’t mind this.

The best hotel to stay. Just 5-10 minutes walk to KLCC. This area is so covenient and near to eateries. Hotel staffs is so friendly and the cleanliness is superb.

I stayed at Hyatt Centric City Centre Kuala Lumpur for two nights and had a very pleasant experience. The hotel environment was nice and the room was excellent — clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. One of the highlights was the view from the room, where I could see the Twin Towers, especially beautiful at night. The location is right in the city centre, so traffic can get quite busy, but the advantage is that it is very convenient to get around. Many popular attractions, shopping malls, and restaurants are within easy reach. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely consider staying here again.

I stayed at the Hyatt Centric in Kuala Lumpur, paying approximately £125 per night. Let me start with the positives. The hotel itself is lovely. The bed is extremely comfortable, I really like the room layout, and the overall design is excellent. Unfortunately, that’s where the compliments start to run out. It’s not one major problem. It’s a seemingly endless succession of irritating little things that simply don’t work as they should. The coffee machine Getting a cup of coffee in the morning shouldn’t require an engineering qualification. The machine has buttons that aren’t clearly identified, and there were no instructions in the room. I eventually requested instructions from reception, only to discover that they referred to buttons numbered 1 and 2, despite the actual machine having no corresponding numbers! I eventually worked out how to operate it, only to find myself standing there holding down a button while the coffee was dispensed. When I asked for instructions, a member of staff insisted on accompanying me upstairs to demonstrate the machine, despite my repeatedly explaining that I simply wanted written instructions. Why make something so unnecessarily complicated? The bathroom The shower itself is perfectly usable, although the water sprays onto the shower curtain. Then there’s the complimentary razor. I attempted to use it this morning, but the razor head was stuck to the plastic packaging or holder. Trying to free it resulted in the thing breaking. So much for having a shave! The gym I visited the gym and decided to weigh myself. Unfortunately, the scales simply displayed zero and wouldn’t register my weight. Another basic piece of equipment that doesn’t appear to function properly. The telephone and housekeeping This morning, the telephone had a flashing red light indicating a message. I followed the instructions, picked up the receiver and attempted to retrieve it, only to be greeted by a confusing automated system that didn’t seem to lead anywhere useful. Then came a knock at the door from housekeeping, wanting to clean the room while I was still getting ready. Individually, these might seem like minor inconveniences. Collectively, they’re becoming ridiculous. My overall impression What frustrates me most is that this could be an excellent hotel. The accommodation is attractive, the bed is wonderful, and I genuinely enjoy the room itself. But at £***per night, I expect the basics to work. I shouldn’t have to spend my mornings figuring out coffee machines, struggling with bathroom amenities, investigating faulty equipment or dealing with unnecessarily complicated systems. Luxury isn’t simply about attractive furniture, stylish interiors and a prestigious name. It’s about attention to detail and making the guest’s experience effortless. Unfortunately, this hotel seems to have concentrated on appearance while overlooking some of the simplest aspects of hospitality. I’ve finally given up trying to enjoy my morning coffee in the hotel and gone to a nearby Irish pub, where I can get a proper coffee, enjoy some food and watch the MotoGP in peace. A beautiful hotel with a comfortable bed, but an astonishing lack of attention to the little things. At the moment, it feels rather more like Fawlty Towers than the Hyatt Centric.
