About this house rental
The villa is a stone's throw away from 2 golden sandy beaches. Beautiful cliff top walks. Golf enthusiasts can enjoy many courses: Quinta do Gramacho and Vale da Pinta, plus Silves and Alvor are all close by. For fun loving families both the Slide & Splash and Aqualand water parks are also within a ten minute drive.The village of Benagil has 5 restaurants all with in walking distance to the villa, which serve locally caught fresh seafood. Kayaking and boat excursions offering dolphin watching or viewing the world's most photographed sea caves and much more on offer, from your doorstep. Carvoeiro is a 5 minute drive away with an abundance of restaurants, gift shops and bars to suit all tastes.
Notes on accommodation:
Arrivals/Departs on saturdays in June, July and August
Arrival from 3pm. Check out by 10am on departure day. Cots and high chairs available to rent.

Exterior terrace with sitting area.
Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service:
Maid service included once a week (change over day, arrival and mid week), all towels and linen included.
We also wish to inform that The Lagoa Municipal Tourist Tax came into force on 13 April 2024, in accordance with Regulation no. 425/2024, published in Diário da República no. 72 of 12/04/2024.
The tax applies to guests staying at hotels, resorts, tourist apartments, rural tourism developments, campsites and local lodging (AL) establishments, including hostels. The charge is €2 per night during the high season (April to October) and €1 during the rest of the year (November to March) per person, up to a maximum of seven straight nights for all tourists aged 13 or older.
Certain exemptions apply, including guests aged 12 and younger, guests with proved disabilities exceeding 60%, national and foreign students attending the University of the Algarve for up to 60 days straight at the beginning of each academic year, guests staying in Lagoa for medical treatment (including one other person), and guests who have been offered accommodation by a tourist or AL establishment.
Please note that an extra payment for the tourism tax will be added to your reservation after booking the property.

Our traveling party was 2 couples, late 40s, in moderate shape. Be aware this location is definitely NOT handicap accessible, and requires lugging luggage up (or down) many steps, no matter which way you go. I wish there had been better instructions for how to get to the property,

The Benagil Beach Bungalow was a perfect house and location for myself, husband and two young adult sons. The surroundings were lively at the start of the day and then quiet by night. It had a unique layout however functional and full of amenities. The back bedroom could use updated beds and bedding, although the overall home was comfortable. It was very convenient to restaurants, boating, swimming and hiking.

Overall, the property was OK. However, the following points were disappointing: 1) The property was described as quiet and intimate - this was, however, not the case at all: there was extremely loud music from the beach bar from 2 pm to 8 pm every day. 3) Tourists left their garbage in front of the gate. 3) Several times, people opened the gate and walked onto the patio to take a selfie. They even left their belongings before going to the beach, although we were home. Thus, the gate should be better secured and labeled "private property." Given this mismatch between the online description and advertisement and the reality, the price tag for this beach home was too high. We have rented houses via VRBO regularly, and we have never experienced such a mismatch between the description of "being quiet and intimate" and the reality of "extremely loud music and tourist interruptions on the property itself.
