The Cross Wing by The Suffolk Cottage Collection

Well appointed, The Cross Wing is full of old world character and charm which means some care needs to be taken when moving between rooms or using the stairs but, hey, given the age of the original, historic (as can be seen in the photos) building, that's to be expected and is all part of the charm. I just learned where I had to duck slightly soon after arriving! The place was spotlessly clean and well cared for with a very well appointed kitchen too. The shower was excellent in the huge bathroom. Parking was easy and convenient, and despite there being people booked in next door, there was no noise between the two properties. With the A12 not that far away, access to various attractions in Suffolk is easy too. The garden is quite well maintained given the drought conditions currently being experienced.

As some have noted, there was a bit of road noise as the lane outside is clearly a busy little country route. However, that said, the M25 it is most definitely not and there is a screening hedge between the property and the road. Pulling out of the drive is actually quite easy.

Nice central location for visiting the beaches and villages etc . Surrounded by fields. Lovely little cottage .. very nicely furnished and beautifully clean. Lovely log burner and great bathroom.

The biggest thing was there was no view of the pond or the fields as is shown in your photos. The hedges and brambles are overgrown so you can’t see either which was disappointing and means there is no view at all from the back garden. The photos should be updated as this was one of the reasons for booking this property. There also needs to be secure fencing by the front hedges that run along the road as the hedge has gaps onto a fast road and is really not dog friendly / safe . A few minor things .. there is a gap in the back fence which means dogs can go between the 2 cottages . Some of the flagstones on the patio are loose and tip. The Sink tap has no filter so the water splashes everywhere every time you turn it on .
