#7 Josie's Mountain Top Hideout-Cabin in the Woods

I not only liked this place, I loved it! I wouldn’t have minded staying here until the cows came home, which to be honest isn’t long, they were about one telescope sighting away from us or two stones tosses (useful there was a telescope on campus). If ya haven’t gathered by now I really enjoyed it. I miss the porch more than anything and I think the front left door was a bit underrated (since the right front was the one defined as the main). We didn’t get a chance to make it to the saloon that was right around the corner but we are hoping to stay for longer next time. Lovely surprise to know there was a second bathroom but we are still convinced it’s a garage down there!

The telescope doesn’t work at night, jk, it does but I couldn’t figure it out until daytime (mostly bc of the buttery wine. Thanks.

Staff is on premises and can take care of any requests, but they leave you alone unless you call them. Exactly what I want at a mountain getaway.

There was nothing that I did not like.

Beautiful, spacious cabin. The location was awesome. Great deal on the price. Cabin could accommodate four so plenty of space for the two of us. Staff is very friendly. Staff was not on site during our stay but immediately reachable by phone (picked up every time). The cabin had everything we needed at hand, so other than buying your food to cook, there was no need to contact anyone. The amenities were clean and in near new condition. Mini-split heat and air-conditioning worked perfectly.

I can't think of anything negative to say about either the property, the staff, or the location. I would say that if you're used to hotels with room service and on-site restaurants, you'll need to plan to bring provisions. There is a nearby market, (Don's) but it's seven miles down the road, so plan to stop there and stock up before you get to the cabin. Excellent resource if you forgot something or want to grab more coffee, food to cook, snacks, etc.
