Mimosa Backpackers Hostel

The view of the mountains was amazing, the social room was super cosy although the TV was broken when we were there, the staff were lovely and Jep especially was really kind and helpful:)

Communication with Jep was the best I had in Laos He replied promptly and effectively to every message I sent which is not common in Laos He picked me up from the bus station and he took me to the pier on my departure day, all for free The view from the kitchen area is amazing, WiFi is ok

It needs a deep clean, the kitchen is never cleaned as well as the surfaces around it Bathrooms need a re do and the mattress is too thin. After my first night I asked Jep if I could get another mattress and he got another one, still was bad for my back

Well the build tents could be nice… but the place was lost when we stayed - maybe in high season it is way better?

The area was not cleaned. Old furniture lied around. It looked a bit like a lost place. The mattress was too hard, the water in the shower (which was just a corner covered in plastic foil) didn’t drain for hours. And the automatic toilet flushed any time you passed by. As it was rainy season there was only one other guest. And no staff to be found most of the time. We had to take a bus and wanted to order breakfast, but from 7:00 to 8:45 no one was there to prepare it. The only choice for breakfast was pancakes. They were good, but without other options.
