We stayed at the cabin when it was -5 degrees and the lake was frozen, but the heater kept us nice and warm inside. The lake is very pretty, just off a main road with a bus stop just outside (good transport links). We enjoyed doing the London Loop walk and coming back to the cabin to rest.
The walk to the bathroom was a bit long at night times when it's cold outside. It isn't a luxury cabin (although one is currently being built for summer) so bring your towels, blankets and dressing gowns to make it feel homely.

The host is fantastic, really friendly and welcoming. You feel incredibly safe staying here as it is accessed through a coded gate. The accommodation is basic (as advertised) so as long as you don’t expect more then you will be very satisfied. Very peaceful right alongside the lake. Tv is a great addition with kettle, microwave and heater provided.
The only downside is there is a fair walk from the car park to the cabin so if you have heavy bags to carry or if you struggle with mobility this could be a struggle. The toilet is also a fair walk away so if you need the loo in the night bring a good torch!
